Our Egypt food tours give you the chance to:
Immersing yourself in this cuisine adds depth to your travel experience and helps you truly appreciate the country’s vibrant heritage.
The cuisine in Egypt differs from region to region. In southern Egypt, the food is spicier, influenced by Nubian and Sudanese flavors. Egyptian cuisine reflects its rich culture and traditions, shaped by Greek, Jewish, Syrian, and Turkish influences.

Egyptian baladi bread is very tasty, usually when fresh, warm and eaten straight out of the oven.
Note: Breakfast and dinner will be served in 5-star hotels in Cairo during our Egypt cultural tours.

Muslim holidays change dates each year, moving about 10-11 days earlier. Coptic Easter and Sham el-Nessim (the spring festival) also move each year, usually falling in late March, April, or early May. Sham el-Nessim is celebrated on the Monday right after Coptic Easter. Coptic Christmas is always on January 7th, following the Orthodox Church calendar.
Some special dishes, cakes, and cookies are only made and enjoyed during Egypt’s important holidays and cultural events.
Ancient civilizations, including Egypt and Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq and Kuwait), India, and China, developed and flourished in river basins. In antiquity, a famous Greek historian and geographer, Herodotus, who visited Egypt around 450 BC, wrote that Egypt is the gift of the Nile.
The river is so important that Egypt and Sudan are in conflict with Ethiopia because Ethiopia built a large dam and reservoirs on it. Ethiopia's investments in the Nile threaten the water security of these countries and they worry that there is a risk that Egypt may be deprived of water in future years. The water from the River Nile means life and survival in African countries.
