Welcome to Egypt! Our 7-day eclipse tour begins with your arrival in Cairo, where representatives from Inside Egypt will meet you at Cairo International Airport. You will then be taken to a five-star hotel, the Hyatt Regency, which will be our home for the next two nights.
Check-in time is 2 p.m. In the afternoon, guests will have time to rest after their journey.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we will continue to the Giza Plateau, where we will have private access after working hours. This private access to the plateau is thanks to special permission granted to Inside Egypt by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
We will enter the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. Especially for us, the guards will open two chambers – the Queen’s Chamber and the Subterranean Chamber – that are normally closed to the public.
Then we’ll get up close and personal with the Great Sphinx by entering its enclosure, another experience not available to the general public.

In the morning, we will fly south to Luxor, where we’ll check in at the 5-star Steigenberger Nile Palace.
Our first stop around Luxor is the famous Karnak Temple Complex, the largest temple in the world. The tour lasts about two and a half hours because the Karnak Temple Complex occupies a huge area with temple complexes erected by several Egyptian rulers.

In the early hours, a hot-air balloon ride over Luxor and the scenic Nile River is available as an optional tour.
After breakfast, we will take a motorboat over the Nile to the West Bank of Luxor. We will visit three tombs in the Valley of the Kings. You can tour an additional crypt, the famous tomb of King Tutankhamun, for a small fee. We will then have lunch at a local restaurant. Next, we will visit the beautiful Luxor Temple with its obelisk and massive statues of Ramses II.

A short trip from our hotel to the eclipse center line which is close to the longest duration point of the eclipse. It will be a private place with a tent that includes snacks and drinks. This will be a large tent but will be a private area for the Inside Egypt clientele, and will not be shared with any other tour companies or groups.

Next on our itinerary is the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, one of the most distinctive temples in Egypt. Built of limestone, it is unlike most of the other funerary temples of the New Kingdom period, which were built of sandstone. The Valley of the Queens served as the burial site of the pharaoh’s wives and some royal children of the 19th and 20th Dynasties. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant.

After breakfast, we will return from Luxor to Cairo. On arrival in Cairo, we will visit the Citadel of Salah Din and the Muhammad Ali Pasha Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit the legendary Khan el-Khalili bazaar.
Tonight, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel and celebrate our experiences on the tour.

Today we must bid farewell to Egypt – for now, marking the end of the 2027 solar eclipse expedition. After breakfast, you'll check out of the hotel and be taken to Cairo International Airport, leaving Egypt with new experiences, beautiful photographs, and lasting memories.

For a seamless experience, we recommend planning a morning or early afternoon arrival into Cairo to allow ample time for settling in and unwinding before the evening meal.
Conversely, the final day of your 7-day eclipse tour will focus on departures, with a hotel checkout time scheduled for noon. In consideration of your international travel plans, transfer services from the hotel to the airport will be organized to align with your departure schedule.

Day 5 (Night 1)
While in Luxor, after viewing the Solar Eclipse, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari and have lunch at a local restaurant.
Embark on a Nile experience as you check in on our 5-star cruise ship. Take your time to settle in and enjoy the wide range of amenities that the ship has to offer. Dinner on the ship and overnight in Luxor.
Day 6 (Night 2)
Breakfast on board, and start the day with a visit to the Valley of the Queens, which served as the burial site of the pharaoh's wives and some royal children of the 19th and 20th Dynasties. During the tour discover the grandeur of the Nefertari tomb. Next, visit the Luxor Museum, which is home to an extraordinary collection of artworks spanning from the Predynastic Period to the Islamic era. Afterward, enjoy the Nile Cruise amenities while sailing towards Edfu. Lunch and Dinner are served on the ship.
Day 7 (Night 3)
After breakfast, we will visit the magnificent Edfu Temple. We will travel to and from the temple by horse and carriage, enjoying a local mode of transport. Next, we sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Ptolemaic-era Kom Ombo Temple and the Crocodile Museum, which showcases mummified crocodiles that were dedicated to the crocodile god, Sobek. We will then continue our trip along the Nile to Aswan. Lunch and Dinner are served on the ship.
Day 8 (Night 4)
On our first day in Aswan, we’ll journey to Abu Simbel to visit the majestic Abu Simbel Temples, built on the orders of Pharaoh Ramses II. When their original location was to be submerged by the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the temples were moved to higher ground. In 1979, the Nubian Monuments from Abu Simbel to Philae were named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Optional trip: Inside the mountain constructed to house the relocated temples of Abu Simbel.
After lunch on the ship, we will visit a Nubian village. Dinner will be served on board the cruise ship.
Day 9
After breakfast, we will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest obelisk in the world. Next, a motorboat will take us to see the Temple of Isis on an island in Lake Nasser. The island where the Philae temple complex was originally located was another casualty of the Aswan High Dam and was moved, piece by piece, to its current location.
Lunch on the ship. You will then be transferred to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Check in to the Four Seasons Hotel in Cairo at the First Residence. Dinner at the Hotel.
Day 10
After breakfast, we will visit the Citadel of Salah Din and the Muhammad Ali Pasha Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque. Lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the legendary Khan el-Khalili bazaar.
