As the Grand Egyptian Museum is not yet open for tourists, it is not included in our tour packages. In the itineraries of all our luxury Egypt tours, we currently offer our clients a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square in Cairo. This museum still houses the Tutankhamun exhibition with the famous golden mask. As soon as the Grand Egyptian Museum officially opens, we will replace the Egyptian Museum tour with this museum's tour.
However, thanks to our work alongside the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, we are proud to offer a Grand Egyptian Museum private tour with a museum manager as an optional tour. This is only possible during our 14 Days in Egypt Tour. Many of the artifacts at the Grand Egyptian Museum have never been seen by the public, as they were stored in the basement of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. You will see ancient artifacts being cleaned and restored in special conservation labs. Entrance to these rooms is strictly controlled and even many renowned archaeologists aren't permitted.
The fee helps support the construction of the Grand Egyptian Museum. Taking part in this optional trip makes you a contributor to this greatly anticipated Egyptian treasure!
